Is it even possible to make a “healthy” Thanksgiving dinner…?
So that was my thought when I realized I had started this 30 Days To Healthy Living program at the beginning of November! What was I thinking??!
Here’s a glimpse at the random thoughts I wrestled with for a couple days:
“How can I skip Thanksgiving?” π
“Oh who cares, I’m not skipping it – it could be a ‘cheat day’, right?” π
“Well I just won’t eat too much.” (hahahaha – sure!)
Then I thought, “you know what, I don’t really even want to eat all that stuff – who says I have to?” So I got down to meal planning and researching healthy recipe options.
Guess What?
It IS possible to set a healthy Thanksgiving Table!!Β *Insert enthusiasm here* !! Yay π
Sound too good to be true…?
Check out our recipes! Some I created, others are adapted from family or recipes I found online.Β π
Garlic Mashed Cauliflower “potatoes”
Cauliflower & Mushroom Stuffing
Sauteed Cinnamon Apples & Pears
Obviously, the goal is to not overeat and desserts should only be for special occasions – like Thanksgiving π – but with healthier ingredients, the indulgence won’t take such a toll π
Everything in Moderation!
Wish me luck! My husband and I are hosting my parents this Thanksgiving, so they are all in my “30 Days to Healthy Living hands,” which means they’re kind-of stuck with whatever I prepare for them π
But.. I will have a couple of their old favorites on hand just in case π
